Howard County Conservancy Summer 2020 Climate and Sustainability Webinar Series

Webinars are held on Zoom every other Wednesday by Dr. Sara Via, professor and climate extension specialist. Some of the topics include, "Healthy soil: What is it and why is it the basis of regenerative agriculture, gardening and landscaping?," "What can the pandemic teach us about being (un)prepared for climate change and other global disasters?," and "The power of individual choice: what can individuals do to combat climate change and how much difference will it make?."

GCC's Managed Retreat Toolkit Launch

The Georgetown Climate Center’s Managed Retreat Toolkit will synthesize best and emerging practices for facilitating retreat in vulnerable coastal areas, conserving and enhancing important coastal ecosystems, and preparing higher-ground “receiving communities” to take in residents relocating away from vulnerable areas. The toolkit will include case studies about retreat from across the country, including examples from both coastal and riverine communities.
