Imagine Bowie

If you live or work in Bowie, attend this event! Share your ideas by participating in an interactive planning exercise designed to support discussions about Bowie’s future. Public participants will go through an all-day program, creating their version of the best Bowie possible. The City will compile the input it receives during the event and use it to inform the creation of a Sustainability Plan, which should be completed by the end of the year. Lunch Provided!

Rooting DC is a FREE, all-day gardening forum that aims to provide education about urban food production and consumption, to cultivate health and preserve the environment. The program includes dozens of interactive workshops, cooking and food preservation demonstrations, and panel discussions focusing on youth gardening, nutrition, sustainable growing techniques, and healthy food access. Bike Maryland's Bicycle Symposium

For 31 years MAEOE has strived to educate students to be stewards of the environment to sustain natural resources for future generations. Through education we can create awareness and empower students and the communities they live in, to act on what they've learned and pass it on.This year our conference committee and Co-Chairs are excited to present new strands, "CHESAPEAKE BAY SCIENCE" and "AGRICULTURE EDUCATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION." We hope that these new programs along with many other topics provided will encourage new attendees and reignite returning members.  We encourage you  to use this weekend as an opportunity to network,  learn something new, be inspired to action and discover new resources to support your individual efforts.

The Watershed Stewards Academy's annual conference is held each year in the late winter with the goal of propelling our Certified Master Watershed Stewards and Consortium members into action for the upcoming restoration season. The conference has been wildly successful in facilitating networking among Stewards, companies, local government, and other organizations. The sessions focus on taking action and give Stewards and professionals the knowledge and tools to go out and make a positive impact on our waterways.

National Bike Summit

The 16th annual gathering of bike advocates, industry leaders and congressional champions will again take place at the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Washington, D.C. The premier advocacy event of the year, the National Bike Summit unites the voices of bicyclists on Capitol Hill. The Summit has shown it’s real impact, leveraging increased investments in bicycling at the federal, state and local levels. This year, with the theme of “Together We Lead,” the Summit will activate and elevate leaders from all areas of the movement. The Summit will propel this unified and diverse voice for change on Capitol Hill and and beyond.
