Policy Forum 2016 is the annual signature event of the Local Leaders Council, a rapidly expanding bipartisan network of over 270 elected and appointed local government leaders who are creating the development models of tomorrow.

Policy Forum 2016 offers an intimate forum for mayors, council-members, county officials, agency directors, and other high level decision-makers to exchange ideas and find out what works. Whether the challenge you face is building up local assets, increasing transportation and housing choices, or attracting employers, you will find other leaders and national experts ready to compare notes and find solutions.

Places are limited, so register now! Registration is free to members of the Local Leaders Council. Not a member? If you are an elected leader of a unit of local government, or appointed to make investment and land use decisions on behalf of a local government, you can join the Local Leaders Council now. We will notify you when your application is approved.

Sustainable Maryland is pleased to invite you to the Prince George's County Pet Waste Management Summit! This event will offer a unique opportunity for Prince George’s County elected officials, staff and residents to learn more about pet waste management and how they can incorporate pet waste best management practices into their overall sustainability initiatives.

Attendees will hear about the County’s new Pet Waste Campaign, share best practices, and access resources to start their own local pet waste management program.

He is the founder of a new social enterprise called Neighborhood Sun (at www.neighborhoodsun.solar) and a leader in developing the clean energy market on the East Coast. As President of Clean Currents, he started the movement for clean power in Maryland and the region. Gary is an active public speaker on sustainability, clean energy, B-Corps, social enterprises and many other topics.

Thanks to a new program in Maryland, practically everyone will soon have the option of signing up for solar power without having to install any equipment. Local environmental advocate and entrepreneur, Gary Skulnik will give a presentation on our state’s new community solar program and how you can participate. He’ll explain the program’s rules, what you should expect in new projects, and the practical impacts to you as a consumer and community organization.

Corey Ramsden is the MD SUN Program Director. Corey focuses on building successful solar co-ops and helping as many Maryland residents as possible go solar. He has 15 years of experience in the IT industry, joined the solar industry in 2011 and is a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional. He also owns his own solar PV system. Corey regularly volunteers his time toward the advancement of renewable energy adoption throughout the region.
